Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha (1909–1966) was one of the most brilliant physicists of the twentieth century and the founding architect of India's scientific institutions. He made fundamental contributions to quantum theory and cosmic ray physics, and was the driving force behind the establishment of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and India's atomic energy programme.

IISER Pune organises this annual public lecture series in memory of this visionary leader, inviting distinguished scientists to speak on forefront topics in physics — in the spirit of Bhabha's own belief that science must be nurtured, celebrated, and shared with society.

"A scientific approach to life must include training of the mind to think clearly and without any fear of what it thinks."
